MY APPROACH

I work relationally, welcoming all parts of you. You will be met without judgment, with compassion and a sincere focus on your goals. While recognizing your challenges, I will honor your wholeness, as a unique being with your own set of gifts as well as trials. I will offer you a safe space to realize new truths. In your difficulties, you may have forgotten or never before seen your own inner light. This is quite common; we all have blind spots. I will help you identify what impedes your growth and ability to shine.  My singular hope for you as my client is to guide you towards a higher quality of life. I wholeheartedly believe therapy works best as a collaborative effort; it requires honesty in our working relationship which is a transferrable skill. Our work can translate into healthier relationships, with yourself and others.

Our time together will be grounded in structured goals, direct communication, and a good dose of humor! Therapy is a deep dive into personal awareness and levity lightens the load. I’ve seen many more smiles than tears in my office. Whatever may come, I’m privileged to witness your courage in therapy and look forward to supporting your journey.

MY TOOLBOX

Mindfulness, attachment theory, and nervous system regulation are the cornerstones of my practice. Mindfulness grounds things into the present moment which supports better informed perspectives, along with healthier mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

Attachment theory, in a nutshell, is how we tend to each other in consistent, attuned ways. Sometimes, the relationships we’ve experienced don’t reflect ideal, loving characteristics, but these skills can be learned at any age! We’re naturally hardwired for meaningful, satisfying connection.

The nervous system (NS) is designed to support us, to not only to survive as a being, but also to flourish in relationship. It responds to what nourishes us, what threatens us, and it tells us when to take action. It’s informed in part by the fight, flight, or freeze model (Sympathetic NS) and the corresponding rest and digest mode (Parasympathetic NS). When our NS radar is dysregulated or off-center, anxiety, depression, PTSD, loneliness, and/or despair may follow. Learning which cues are accurate and which are skewed perceptions provides the opportunity to shift out of activation states or conversely, numbness, to appropriate responses that have more ease and flexibility.  Making these adjustments restores your inherent, natural health, allowing you to live as the completely functional, engaged human you’re designed to be.

Other modalities we might employ could include somatic-based (body-centered) frameworks, experiential and Enneagram work, boundary work, spiritual guidance, Gestalt therapy, and energy tools. All of my work is trauma-informed and blends my intuitive insight alongside traditional Eastern and Western psychotherapeutic models. Let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit and start your healing journey.
